Principal Letter To Parents

September 2, 2014

Dear Parents and Guardians,

On behalf of the Orozco community, it is truly my pleasure to extend a warm and heartfelt welcome to Orozco Academy as we begin the 2014-2015 school year.  I would like to extend a special warm welcome and best wish for a productive year at Orozco Academy.  We hope you will quickly feel right at home and become involved in the activities of our school through the NCLB, BAC and your child’s classroom program.

This year the school administration is working diligently with the faculty and staff to enhance the development of a learning environment of high academic and discipline expectations that is characterized by a student centered instruction.  In this environment, systems of support will be provided to assure students met the abovementioned school expectations.  All faculty members will use student data to inform their classroom instruction.  In other words, teachers will differentiate their instruction to address the needs of all our students. To keep close track of student academic progress our teachers will be assessing students regularly using assessments aligned with the Common Core State Standards (CCSS).  Our commitment is to work in collaboration with you to achieve the school vision.  By doing so, we are sure that all our graduates are ready for college.

We embrace the challenges of the future while we continue to cherish and celebrate the traditions of the past.  Thus, we will be honoring one of the best art teachers at Orozco, Mr. Francisco Mendoza soon.  A plaque will be unveiled to honor him.  We will provide you with additional details soon.

This year, I am convinced that by working united and collaboratively we will make Orozco Academy a wonderful and unique place where our students will have access to a top quality education that will make them highly competitive in the global context.

Please visit our school website to have a quick snapshot of life at our school.  If you would like to contact me at Orozco Academy, please call the school number at 773 534 7215.

I am looking forward to working with you and your children as we work towards an academically successful school year.
